Sharpie Painted Mug

February 2017

Materials Used:

Sharpie Oil-based paint pen (I purchased mine at Walmart)

Plain mugs ( I found them at the Cubby and Mardens)

Optional: Stickers, Rubbing alcohol, Q-tips, Nail Polish Remover

Directions:

Start with a clean mug. You can wipe it down with rubbing alcohol to remove residue.
Place Sticker on Mug for a monogram or choose a freehand design
Begin making dots around the edge of your sticker. As you work your way outward, make your dots less concentrated. You can use one color or multiple colors.
Once the paint is dry, peel your sticker off. If you make a mistake, remove paint with nail polish remover on a Q-tip.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Once your oven is heated, set your mugs inside (I placed mine on a cookies sheet for balance) and let them bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and let the mugs an oven cool down.
That's it! You can now give them as gifts and use them just like any other mug.

Try Black Mugs for a Chalkboard Effect or Colored Mugs. It's all about being creative and using what you have.
